A christian revival blog leading people to the truth about Jesus Christ and His Salvation. There are many false teachers, false prophets, false pastors, false evangelists and false apostles in the world today and it is time for the truth.
Wait on The Lord?
ISAIAH 26 : 1 - 5 NKJV
In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
“We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. 2 Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. 3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.[a] 5 For He brings down those who dwell on high, The lofty city; He lays it low, He lays it low to the ground, He brings it down to the dust.
In the above scripture we can see that perfect peace is the blessing that GOD gives to those who wait on Him. That is a person whose mind is stayed on GOD and who trusts in Him.
ISAIAH 40 : 31 NKJV
31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
From Isaiah 40 : 31 we can see that those who wait on The LORD will be strong and not be wearied, but will be refreshed by GOD.
MATTHEW 11 : 28 - 30 NKJV
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Jesus promises rest for the wearied souls and an easy yoke for those who place their trust in Him.
God is wonderful! His plan is that His people will have rest from fear, stress and anxiety. A life of perfect peace and an easy yoke. Well that all sounds great but do you have that life in you or are you even obtaining it from God? The key to getting this wonderful life from God is surrendering to God to live for Him. For example a person who is working things out for themselves will have the stresses and burdens that go with that, but the person who asks God for directions and who obeys them will have perfect peace because God never fails. Surely it is a journey with God to obtain this life and only He can take a person to that place of faith in Him. If you want to go on that journey then it begins with you asking God to take you there.
HEBREW 3 : 7 - 19 NKJV
7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:
“Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray intheirheart, And they have not known My ways.’ 11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’”[a]
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:
“Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”[b]
Failure of the Wilderness Wanderers
16 For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? 17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
We can do as we please because God has given us all a free will. Every moment of every day we exercise that free will by the choices that we make when we respond to our circumstances. We can be happy or sad, disappointed or accepting, forgiving or unforgiving, etc. We decide how we will respond. Like saying, "My cup is half full" or "My cup is half empty". We could also choose to be angry or bitter or depressed, etc. If we have chosen to be christians, we do not need to have any negatives in our life, because Jesus Christ will set us free. Again, that would be our choice, exercising our free will. If we ask Him why we are angry, bitter, frustrated, depressed, fearful, anxious, untruthful, unsubmitted, lusty, immoral, self-centered, etc. , then He will tell us the truth. Once we have the truth, again we choose what we are going to do. Will we repent and be free or will we remain trapped in our problems? If we do not hear God very clearly then we can ask others to pr…
We need the gifts of The Holy Spirit to empower us to do the will of God on this earth. The great commission is one of power. Jesus is the example, He came and ministered in the power of God to impact a broken world, to demonstrate the mercy of GOD and verify the Gospel that He preached with that power. We need it! Why do we need it? He wants us to obtain it! How then do we get it? What does it look like? How long do we have to wait to get it?
Our world is broken through sin (obedience to satan). Most people are blind to the truth and are perishing in their sin. Many rely on medications, alcohol or drugs to try and manage the death that reigns in them. Jesus is the giver of life, the one who sets people who put their trust in Him free. He heals the sick and the brokenhearted. So how can we do for these people around us what Jesus does? Well, we need Him to equip us with the power that He has. If we ask Him to equip and empower us for His great commission, then He will. Now, when we ask…
Why do people lose interest in certain activities in life? Are they bored because that activity seems to be the same every day, week, month, year? Like watching the same television program over and over, it can become very predictable. Could it be because that person's expectation of that particular activity is not being fulfilled? Let us then apply these thoughts to the christian walk. Many people seem to start out with great enthusiasm for God and the things of God, but gradually over time become apathetic. I have heard some people say that the newborn believers make the best evangelists, which is a lie because they do not know Jesus Christ or His gospel. I believe that those people have said this because they have observed the zeal of new believers. The inference here is that as one progresses that zeal is lost. Well it does not have to be that way.
