The Sunday Performance (Called a Worship Service)

Vanity is a huge problem in the church of today. Unfortunately it is often about how it all looks to be, rather than how it really is. A full blown version of this is the success of the megachurches. (Not really necessarily success, but having the numbers.) There appears to be a great attraction to music, lighting and charismatic preaching. The patrons get their feel good experiences with the whole performance and they get to be a part of something much bigger than themselves.(By the way that is an inherent need of all man because we were designed to be a part of "The Body of Christ")(Some people fulfill this need by being a member of a club) Above all they believe that they have salvation, because that is what they are told and everyone else believes it too. So what is wrong with all of this? Well if it is a worship service, who is being worshiped? How much of what is being said and done is to receive the praise of an audience, rather than for the Glory of God? The next pro…

Being "Led by the Flesh"

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

If therefore one is led by their flesh then they are obedient to their flesh and disobedient to God.

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, con…

Being "Led By The Spirit"

Firstly what is it to be "Led  by The Spirit"? What is it to be led by anyone or anything? Surely it means that one is following that person or thing. Can you follow someone that you cannot see or hear? It is impossible! Therefore to be "Led by The Spirit" one must be able to see or hear Him. So why is it so important to be "Led by The Spirit"?

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Therefore anyone who calls themselves a Christian (A follower of Christ) must be "Led by The Spirit"

JOHN 10 : 27 NKJV

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

So then how can one hear Jesus?

1 JOHN 2 : 27 NKJV

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will[a] abide in Him.

As you can see above you can hear God by the …

The "One Minister Church" Part 2

In these days of  Pastors leading the Church in place of The Holy Spirit we can see personal agendas and fears as major contributing factors to the failure of the church in general. Although Pastors pray about direction for their churches unfortunately their vulnerability is their own lack of "Sanctification" and therefore they can hear their flesh rather than God. Also by endeavoring to lead the congregation in place of The Holy Spirit, and the congregation relying on them, then the congregation remain as babies and miss out on being led and taught by God Himself and they do not have intimacy with Him. This also keeps the Pastor as the most important go to person, an unhealthy dependence. A place of power and influence over others that they simply should not have.
What then are some of these strongholds within leaderships? Success is a big one! In the world today to be successful seems to be very important and if you are not successful then you are put down or so it seems.(U…
