Wearing a mask?
Many people in this world are pretenders. People who want to be seen to be excellent in what they are doing, even if they are not. People who want others to give them thanks and praise for the things that they do. In many cases these people do a lot of the work in an establishment for that very reason. What if God wanted everyone to be a team sharing the work and giving Him the glory?
ROMANS 12 : 3 - 8 NKJV
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. 4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
From verse 3 we can see that it is God who provides the grace for His work to be done and therefore He gets the glory for it. The world today is also a place of great competition, where people are striving against one another to be the greatest. In many cases this is also in the church. This does not lead to serving one another, but to self serving. This atmosphere in any organisation leads to chaos and confusion.
JAMES 3 : 13 - 17 NKJV
13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but isearthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
Verse 16 says that where bitter envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. Wow! Every evil thing are there. So then this needing to be seen to be greater than others, summons every evil to bring that person victory. The person who is striving to be greater is often also deluded and believes that they are superior to others.
ROMANS 3 : 23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
From Romans 3 : 23 we can see that all man is equal. That is to say that we have all sinned and we have all fallen short of the Glory of God and therefore no one is any greater than anyone else.

PHILIPPIANS 2 : 1 - 11
2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4 Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
The Humbled and Exalted Christ
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, andcoming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Verse 3 : 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.
If we are not able to esteem others more highly than ourselves, then we have every evil thing present, helping us in our superiority of others. It is simply not real, we are no greater than anyone else and no one is any greater than us. God alone is great! If we have this problem, then the best thing that we can do is to ask God to have mercy on us and to show us the way of freedom from it.
