Do you want to be an ambassador for Christ?

Do you or have you ever wanted to minister for Jesus Christ in the power of The Holy Spirit? Have you seen other people doing it and have said something like "Why did God choose them and not me?" Well, if you are that person, have you ever considered that you may still be being prepared by God for His purposes? Do you think that you are not good enough? Think of the Lord's generals, the Apostles, they were ordinary people empowered by an extraordinary God. The key here is that God can use anyone and He wants to use everyone.

LUKE 10 : 2
Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers arefew; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.

If the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, why does God not empower and release more laborers? If you were the leader of an army would you send someone who is doing basic training into a war zone, or would you wait until they had completed all of their training? If God who is all wise and all knowing prepares His people before releasing them, then what does His preparation look like?

2 TIMOTHY 2 : 19 - 26 NKJV
19 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Verse 21 says that when a person cleanses himself or herself from their iniquity that they will be useful for the master and prepared for every good work. Now should we then feel guilty if God is not using us powerfully at present? No, certainly not! For if we are obeying God, He does not condemn us.

ROMANS 8 : 1 NKJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Therefore if we are obeying The Holy Spirit, God is pleased with us. Remember it is God who prepares us and all we need to do is continue to obey Him. It is God who wants more laborers and God who desires a harvest. If we desire to be used of God, then that just means that we agree with that desire that He has placed in our hearts.
So how do we get sanctified by The Holy Spirit? First we ask Him to sanctify us. Then we obey Him when He corrects us or retrains us in His way. He will empower those who will surrender to Him. He will put to death our man of iniquity by teaching us the truth in every situation. You can ask Him to teach you what to ask Him.

ROMANS 8 : 13 - 14 NKJV
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

With regard to the training of the Apostles of Christ, they walked one on one living with Christ Himself for approximately three and a half years before they were given The Holy Spirit to empower them in leadership. In our busy lives how long would it take to give an equivalent amount of time to our training. It is kind of like trying to do full time studies part time. So then time given to God for His preparation of us is also a big factor of how long it may take.
We may also look at others and say, "It did not take them long, why does it have to take so long for me?" Have they really been prepared and released by God?
How effective is their ministry? These are all questions that you can ask God. The main thing here though is putting ourselves in the hands of God so that He can finish His preparation of us for what He has for us to do. Not that we should compare with others at all, for that is vanity.
