Prophecy the strong foundation

EPHESIANS 2 : 19 - 22 NKJV

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

As I showed in my last post "The testimony of  Jesus is the spirit of prophecy". Jesus is the word of God. From the above scripture we can see the foundation of the house of God, the apostles and prophets and Christ as the chief cornerstone. And on that foundation the whole house is built up as a dwelling place for God in the Spirit. Therefore the testimony of Jesus Christ through the apostles and prophets is of paramount importance as the solid foundation upon which the whole house is constructed. What happens if you build a house without a foundation? What happens if you build a house on the wrong foundation? What would happen if you were to remove the foundation of a house? Of course in each case the house would fail, collapse or fall down. How does the house of God look at the moment? Does it look strong, powerful and effective in the world of today? Is the great commission advancing throughout the nations for the salvation of mankind or are we seeing great evils everywhere on the rise and the church in decline? Where are the apostles and prophets recognized? Do you know any of them and if you do are you submitted to what they are teaching you? Otherwise what is your foundation? Do you read and interpret the word of God for yourself? (that is not to say that you cannot learn by The Holy Spirit yourself, but Jesus appointed apostles and prophets to guide you and lead you so that you are not led astray.)

EPHESIANS 4 : 7 - 16 NKJV

But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. Therefore He says:
“When He ascended on high,
He led captivity captive,
And gave gifts to men.”
(Now this, “He ascended”—what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

ACTS 6 : 1 - 4 NKJV

Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

As you can see the most important thing for the leaders of the church is the ministry of the word and prayer. (The Spirit of Prophecy, the testimony of Jesus.) Why? Well if the leaders of the church are not good followers of Christ then what hope does the church have given that Christ has gifted and appointed them for that role? We can clearly see from the fruit of the church of today that we need victory. If we are truly following Christ then we will have victory on a daily basis. What then is missing? Clear direction from God! True prophecy through true apostles and prophets! True leadership! What can be done about this? Prayer is the answer. I believe that it is time for the church to ask God to reveal His true leadership and to pray that we can all see the importance of submission to true apostles and prophets that we may have all that God has for us and pass it on to others. This will be a great revival!!!
